This CPU is Socket AM3+....

For Price/Performance this 8-Core CPU is a winner.
AMD FX 8120 (Code Name Bulldozer) will give you high performance in highly threaded Applications and Benchmarks with Newer Code. It currently stands it's ground, but it will be difficult to make all those cores work for you with todays lacking software.

AMD really went far out with this style of design and put a lot of time and pure Innovation into it. For that alone they get 5 out of 5 from me.

The big minus to this processor is the utterly hideous stock cooler. The cool part about this 8-Core Monster is the fact you can turn cores and threads on and off at will via Bios and AMD's FX software. This is a Black Edition which means you can also Overclock the CPU in a safe manner by means of a built in technique called Turbo Core.
You can use Turbo Core to increase clock speeds when needed and/or you can manually Overclock it through the Bios and/or AMD's FX software. You can run this as 4 cores with 4 threads, 2 cores with 4 threads, 8 cores with 8 threads and so on.

Overall it's a great CPU. It's not without it's issues though. Because it's brand new, built from the ground up and completley different from what anybody has ever done, Software Developers need to catch up to AMD's style of design. Once they do in the near future, this processor should further guarantee you a solid future proof setup.

That said, it's been reported that the new AMD FX CPU's suffer from scheduling problems due to Microsoft's current Windows 7 OS not utilizing the AMD CPU properly. Windows 8 resolved this issue and the newer OS understands how AMD's new 8-Core works gaining you maximum performance. Hopefully Microsoft will release a patch for Windows 7 to resolve this issue.

Despite some Negative reviews along with some Positive reviews, here is my take on the matter.
- AMD needs to further tweak this design.
- Software needs to polish up to take advantage of this new design.
- Driver Updates.
- Windows 7 Update for Bulldozer to ensure further performance and consistency.

AMD's Innovation = Intel's Success. Without the two, the CPU Industry would fall far behind in Innovation and Technology.
Good Job AMD, just fix the Quirks. Thanks...

Are you running in tablet marathon...and you are little bit behind than others.
Don't worry you have two nice choice.......

1st is HCL ME- X1

2nd is Spice Mi-720

Both have very good features and specification.

The ME X1 comes with 7-inch capacitive touch 800x480 pixel resolution display. HCL has provided Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) running on an ARM Cortex A8 1 GHz processor, and the onboard 512 MB DDR2 RAM gives it a decent performance. The X1 manages multitasking decently. For connectivity there is Wi-Fi but no SIM slot for 3G, however, you can use 3G USB dongles for internet connectivity.

There's 4 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32 GB. But absence of Android Market will leave you wondering what to store in the tablet. Though HCL has about 10,000 custom apps at Me Apps, lack of access to Android Market would make you wonder how good the Me Apps Store is.

There are lots of pre-installed applications like Booksonwink,Cleartrip, Bookmyshow etc. with many special offers. Buyers can avail discounts worth Rs. 2,500 on domestic flight tickets booked through the Cleartrip app on Me X1. Similarly, HCL is offering Rs 3,000 worth of discounts on e-books purchased through the Booksonwink and MagsonWink app preinstalled on this tab. There is also a free one month subscription offer on the Hungama app which comes preloaded on ME X1

.

The camera is placed on the front right hand corner along with the only button, which works as both a back and a menu button. There is no rear camera, but who clicks pictures from their tablet anyways? The 2-megapixel camera in front seems sufficient.

HCL ME X1 is a 7-inch device, and is quite comfortable to hold. At 391.5 grams, it is lightweight and measures 121.35 mm x 192.5 mm x 12.2 mm. The device has a brushed aluminum finish, and looks a bit different from rest of the 7-inch options in the segment.

The placement of buttons is odd. While the Home button is at the normal position at the centre of the bottom, the power on/off button, mini HDMI port, microSD slot, one mini USB 2.0 and a mic output are below the button, cluttered together. Looks wise, it isn't something to drool over, but what can you expect for Rs 10,500 tablet.

The 3500 mAh battery seems ample enough to run a whole day, but was seen drained out after about 6 hours of usage. HCL claims that this tablet is meant for the Indian consumer as it will get India-specific apps, and is designed with services that are required in India. It's not a bad tablet at all to buy for 10K. Good customer support is guaranteed from HCL, so there shouldn't be any after sales issues. Apart from the slight lag when heavily multitasked upon, the battery life, and the off-center camera placement, this a good second attempt from HCL.

Pros:

Good Build Quality
Runs Android 2.3 GingerBread
Affordable Price

Cons:

Lacks Android Market
No Rear Camera
No Inbuilt 3G modem
Inconvenient Button Placement
Average Battery

The Bottom Line

HCL ME X1 is a good budget Android tablet to buy. Given HCL's country-wide network and support, it would be a good option for those looking for a tablet in a 10K range. There are minor niggles here and there, but they are fixable in a geeky way.

Spice has launched its low-cost tablet called Mi-720. Priced at Rs. 12,990, the Spice Mi-720 runs on Android 2.2 Froyo and is powered by an 800MHz Qualcomm Processor.

This tablet can also be used as a smartphone to make calls via SIM card. Spice claims that it can deliver superior graphics quality with the addition of Adreno 200 graphic processor. The inclusion of 3G means that you can bag a top speed of 7.2 Mbps using the HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76 Mbps data speed on browsing, mails and download on this tablet. Along with that the connectivity options included in this tablet are Wi-Fi, GPRS with EDGE technology. The Bluetooth 2.1 can be used for wireless file transfer. One thing I must clearly say that Indian manufactured tablets mostly comes with Android 2.2 and 2.3, the Spice Mi 720 is on the same lines with Android 2.2 Froyo operating system.

Spice Mi 720 adds gravity sensor which goes through shift in position, tilting and other inclination with respect to the earth. Along with that Android Market is tip away from downloading various application on your tablet.

The Spice has powered this tablet with 4200 mAh battery. And it with that battery fully charged you would be able to get 7 or 8 hours of battery on a single charge.

Pros:

Decent processor
good Rear camera
3G and Wi-Fi enabled
Video calling
sensors

Cons:

Android Froyo OS
256 MB RAM
Price

The Bottom Line

Spice Mi-720 is also a good budget Android tablet to buy, Spice Mi-720 Tablet features which will disappoint users is its camera. It has 2MP camera which is just comparable with normal smartphones in the market. This shows that the tablet is more for operating uses and not as smartphone. However this is compensated with better features. Overall Spice Mi-720 Tablet price and features makes good sense for young professionals and college students.
